Updating from 10.04 to 10.10

I know that the 11.x series is poison <grin>, so I'm staying away for now. Is there any advantage to updating from 10.04 to 10.10? I'm using 10.04 LTS. Do I lose long term support if I update to 10.10? Any clarity will be appreciated.
