Just loaded squeeze onto a Lenovo T420i and the max resolution I get is 1024x768. According to System -> Preferences -> Monitors the only resolutions available are 1024x768, 960x600, and 800x600. xrandr shows the same thing. Using the on ...

Change screen resolutions
Windows was designed to function with predefined resolutions (640x480, 800x600, 1024x768…) but there is nothing preventing you from using a screen resolution of your choice.
