Samsung Galaxy S - 10 million Smartphone’s shipped

The first 5 million Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone’s were shipped by October 2010. Samsung has now announced that they have moved through the 10 million mark.

There is nothing like some good news to get the New Year started off on the right foot. South Korean manufacturer Samsung is rather pleased with themselves (and in consequence the result of their ambitious plans) in announcing that they have shipped 10 million Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone’s – their leading Android powered handset launched around the world last summer.

The first 5 million handset mark was passed in October 2010, allowing the manufacturer to congratulate themselves on their strategy for conquering the Smartphone’s segment by selecting Android as an available operating system. This strategy has since been expanded to take into account the Samsung Galaxy Tab tactile tablet..


10 million, and still not finished
The two products remain at the heart of the company’s 2011 offensive. This announcement is a small warning to others just before the CES 2011 show which will see numerous Smartphone’s and tactile tablets released by competing manufacturers.

With its solid performance, a 4" Super AMOLED display (and we know how the provisioning of these screens was rather difficult in 2010) and a solid distribution network build with mobile carriers, the Samsung Galaxy S has stamped itself as one of the surest phones on the market, providing the Android platform with good visibility.
