SBS 2008 - need to re-install CompanyWeb - sharepoint error

November 05th, 2010 - 07:53 am ET by Microsoft | Report spam
Hello All,

A clients site has an SBS 2008 with a broken Companyweb, the sharepoint has
been removed and in the process of re-install.

Getting stuck when running the SharePoint Products and Technologies
Configuration Wizard.

The configuration wizard reaches step 2 then fails with:
Unable to create the configuration database
The group already exists

Is there a workaround to allow this to continue or anything else that needs
to be changed before we can continue ?

Thanks

PCDAN.

Hi !

I had my companyweb broken too. Needed to reinstall it. I used that command line below and it worked just fine. I don't know if it'll work on your configuration ('cause you seemed to have uninstall sharepoint)

just sharing though :
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\12\BIN\psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force"
