Some Apple shareholders want to know more about the company’s succession plans with Steve Jobs once again on medical leave.
While Apple’s guru Steve Jobs is once again on medical leave for an undetermined time, replaced in mid-January by Operations Director Timothy Cook and Vice-President of Design Jonathan Ive, the thorny question of his definitive departure has once again been raised.
The subject was raised on Tuesday during the Annual General Meeting of the board of directors which took place in Cupertino, California. Some shareholders want to see a detailed succession plan developed and adopted.
Management responded that a complete succession plan had already been developed and was ready for deployment, but this wouldn’t be made public as it would provide indications to their competition about their upper management which could lead to them being head hunted.
The big question nevertheless remains: Is Steve Jobs Apple? Without Steve Jobs at the helm, will the company continue to shine like today or will they fall without wind beneath their wings?
