Show or hide drives under Windows 7

December 02nd, 2009 - 11:03 am ET by D. T.

Under the Windows 7 operating system, when a drive is empty it will no longer be visible in the My Computer folder. This is translated into the fact that a memory card is empty and therefore not visible. If you want to display these drives permanently, then here are the steps to be taken.

Go to the Start menu thanks to the Windows key and enter “Folder options” into the real time search field, before double clicking on the corresponding result.

In the window which appears, select the “Display” tab. Next, move through the options until you find the “Hide empty drives fro; Computer folder” option, then checking the box in front of this option to hide empty drives, or uncheck it to display them permanently.
