Shunra Software and Sogeti jointly announce the launch of the Sogeti
Performance Efficiency Test Solution, a mobile application testing
service available at the Sogeti Test Labs. Shunra Software is an
industry-recognized authority in network
virtualization and application performance engineering. Sogeti,
part of the Capgemini Group, is a leading provider of professional
technology services specializing in Application Management,
Infrastructure Management, High-Tech Engineering and Testing.
This Performance Efficiency Test Solution will enable companies wanting
to qualify the network performance of their mobile applications to gain
a better understanding of how their mobile app will perform under
real-world network conditions and in specific geographic locations, by
using Shunra’s state-of-the-art application performance engineering
capabilities and Sogeti’s senior mobile application testing expertise.
“Mobile is undeniably a great enabler for businesses,” said Bill Varga,
Shunra COO. “But, it is also one of businesses’ biggest challenges. With
almost infinite variations of geography and network conditions, testing
mobile apps can be complex and time consuming. The Performance
Efficiency Test Solution now allows companies to take
geographically-specific real-world network conditions into account while
performance testing their mobile apps with Sogeti’s industry-leading
test teams.”
Once a mobile application is submitted to Sogeti’s mobile testing lab,
the app is performance tested with Shunra’s vCat and mobile hotspot
feature. The test establishes a baseline of application performance
across a WiFi network and compares that performance to a typical 3G
mobile network connection in the specified geographic location. For each
of these networks, a detailed report provides:
-
Initial connection time
-
Content download time
-
Content upload time
-
Customized performance optimization recommendations
“Proactively testing applications, prior to deployment, is essential to
mitigating costly performance risk,” said Jean-Pascal Duniau, Mobile
Application Testing Services, Manager Sogeti High Tech. “Sogeti’s
performance experts, combined with Shunra’s leading technology, offer
our customers unprecedented insight into performance before application
roll-out, equipping them to make informed decisions on how to optimize
and ensure a positive end-user experience.”
Shunra’s partnership with Sogeti and Capgemini represents a service
delivery integration point as part of Shunra’s existing mobile
performance platform. With this integration point, and other Shunra
partnerships regarding mobile load and functional testing, Shunra
promotes an end-to-end framework incorporating industry leadership and
best practices focused on mobile application performance. Sogeti High
Tech, which is providing the testing services initially from its Mobile
Application Testing Center of Excellence in Grenoble, France,
specializes in reducing the risk of application failures, while cutting
development and maintenance costs and improving time-to-market for
application projects.
“Because of Sogeti’s recognized leadership in application testing
services, this partnership represents a natural synergy between two
companies committed to proactively improving application performance and
quality of user experience,” stated Varga.
