Single Touch Interactive Inc. A wholly owned subsidiary of Single Touch
Systems (OTC BB: SITO), a technology based mobile media solutions
provider to some of the largest companies in the world that enables
retailers advertisers and brands to easily connect with customers
through its patented technologies, announced today that it has signed a
licensing agreement for its proprietary Abbreviated Dial Code technology,
with Mobile Direct Response (MDR), a digital marketing and advertising
firm. A pioneer in the mobile media space, Single Touch is known for
developing the Abbreviated Dial Code (ADC) market with notable brands
like MTV and BET.
An Abbreviated Dial Code is a simple mobile solution that provides
marketers and advertisers with a quick and easy way of delivering an
engaging experience to the mobile consumer, regardless of the consumer’s
device or carrier. An abbreviated dial code call is placed by dialing
the #, ##, * or ** symbols on the handset with an alphanumeric code
associated with the advertiser or brand, then pressing the send button
(i.e. #WMT, #TAXI). Single Touch’s proprietary platform allows marketers
to deliver all types of mobile content, including coupons, text,
applications, video and other data, as well as receive voice and other
responses and conduct mobile transactions.
“Single Touch has focused on developing technology that makes it easier
for Brands to connect with consumers. The Abbreviated Dial Code is a
cost-effective mobile solution that reinforces Brand awareness, results
in high response rates and quantifies marketing return on investment.”
noted Anthony Macaluso, Chairman and Chief Innovation Officer of Single
Touch.
Mr. Macaluso continued, “Marketers are beginning to understand how to
harness and leverage ADC technology. Our innovation has been and will
continue to be driven by our ability to address mass markets through
simple but elegant solutions that are intuitive in nature, like dialing
the phone. We are confident that ADC will quickly gain market share in
mobile advertising at the expense of competing strategies. The
applications of #BRAND are endless.”
Under the agreement, Single Touch will license its Abbreviated Dial Code
technology on a non-exclusive basis to Mobile Direct Response, powering
their mobile marketing and advertising campaigns. MDR has recently
launched #250, which allows the callers of #250 to access information
based on various generic keyword categories, such as restaurant, hotel,
flight information and pizza.
“Single Touch has expended considerable resources on this innovative
technology, which is protected by its wide ranging patents. We are
excited to partner with companies like MDR that respect its innovations
and patent rights and will continue to offer licensing arrangements to
such partners.” said Mr. Macaluso.
