SkyCross Announces 4G LTE MIMO Antenna Solution Design Win

SkyCross, a global developer and manufacturer of advanced antenna and RF solutions that are powering the emergence of 4G networks, today announced that IPWireless, a leading provider of 3G/4G mobile broadband technology including infrastructure and devices for new applications and markets, has selected SkyCross to design a custom State-Tuned iMAT™ antenna into its new multiband LTE USB modem. The design win is the first to leverage the new SkyCross ST-iMAT technology.

The SkyCross State-Tuned iMAT™ antenna solution is a patented design approach that extends the award-winning performance of the company’s Isolated Mode Antenna Technology (iMAT®), which permits a single radiating element to behave like multiple antennas. State tuning enables the MIMO performance of an iMAT® single radiating element to be applied across multiple frequency bands while simultaneously increasing radiated efficiency—without increasing the overall size of the antenna relative to conventional approaches.
