3D films and games: Sony unveils their HMZ-T1 headset

Sony has announced the release of the HMZ-T1 head set which until now has been presented only as a prototype at the CES show in Las Vegas last January.

Sony HMZ-T1With a size of 18 x 16.8 x 3.6 centimetres and weighing 420 grams, this is a headset with two 0.7 inch OLED panels and two ear pieces.

Connected by a cable to a box plugged into a HDMI port on a Blu-ray player, games console or computer, the headset gives the impression that you are in front of a 750 inch diagonal screen situated 20 meters away, with a resolution of 1 280 x 720 pixel. The headset also provides relief effects and 5.1 high definition audio. Simply, this device has everything required to allow its wearer to have a better immersion into their films or games.

It should be noted that there is a HDMI output on the box connected to the source, with this allowing you to maintain you connection to the television or monitor.

The Sony HMZ-T1 will become available in October in Japan for 60 000 Yen, the equivalent of 780 dollars.
