Sony has announced the release of four new online televisions which are Google TV compatible.
Sony has unveiled their new range of Sony Internet TV’s - four models with 24, 32, 40 and 46 inch Full HD screens equipped with an Intel Atom processor, and operating the Android operating system. The Google Chrome Internet Browser is also present, along with WiFi connection options.
With the Sony Internet TV options it will be possible to access the online Google TV platform, from where you can watch television stations like CNBC, read the worlds best news daily’s like the New York Times, communicate thanks to the Twitter microblogging service, access video content through YouTube and surf the web with Google’s browser. Simply, a single window will centralise all of the information options that you could want.
All of this can also be controlled by a Smartphone, also running Android, doubling as the wireless remote control. The remote provided with the television also has double functions, with it being possible to use it an optical pointing device and full keyboard.
Not being released to the European market before the end of the year, the Sony Internet TV’s will be available in the US market from Saturday for between 600 and 1400 dollars.
