Today, Sprint
(NYSE:S) announced it is participating in a special two-hour episode of
ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition spotlighting the dangers of
texting while driving and a Texas family that has turned a tragic loss
into a mission to educate drivers on unsafe wireless use behind the
wheel. The episode will air on local ABC stations on Sunday, Jan. 30
starting at 8 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. CT.
“As the father of two youths, I know the importance of teaching
responsible behavior behind the wheel and that texting while driving
creates a danger for themselves, as well as for others, and should not
be tolerated,” said Dan Hesse, president and CEO of Sprint. “I’m proud
to have Sprint partner with ABC and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
in addressing an issue of great importance, and I hope others will join
us in watching and learning from this special episode.”
