Startup folder

I wasn't quite sure what to make the subject of this post. I have a Dell
Inspiron 530 running Windows XP SP3 with all available updates. This
problem showed up some time ago. Every time I boot up the last thing that
happens is that my Documents folder opens and displays on the screen. This
is not the My Documents folder just a folder in the root directory of C:
I've just been closing the window and moving on . . . everything else works
fine.

I've looked in the startup folder - nothing there but I don't know where
else to look to stop this from happening.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rick Morrison

I understand what you're saying. Yes, there is the My Documents folder in
Documents & Settings but that's not the problem. I've had a Documents (not
My Documents) folder in the root directory since Windows 3. It has never
shown up on the screen at boot until recently. I want to keep it where it
is . . . I just don't want it to show up one the screen at boot.

Thanks

Do you have a Folder
C:\Documents and Settings\Dell_Administrator\My Documents
If so Move all of the File and Folder to it

For on XP there is no My Documents on C:

on Xp it is at
C:\Documents and Settings\?_Administrator\

No, it's not empty . . . it has several subfolders and a lot of documents
in it that I want to keep . . . I just don't want it to open on the
screen each time I boot up.

Thanks
