StorSimple Selected as Product of the Year Finalist by Storage Magazine

StorSimple, the leading provider of Cloud Integrated Enterprise Storage for Windows and VMware environments, today announced that its 5010 and 7010 cloud storage gateway appliances have been selected as 2011 Product of the Year finalists in the Storage Systems category by Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com for the second consecutive year. StorSimple was selected from over 200 entries for the quality of its enterprise-grade appliances, which integrate multiple storage devices into one, dramatically reducing infrastructure costs.

The award recognizes the success of StorSimple’s integrated approach to enterprise cloud storage, using an on-premise appliance to automatically tier data to the cloud for primary storage, archiving, backup and disaster recovery. The 5010 and 7010 models add high-availability, non-disruptive upgrades and a SAS tier to go with the SSD and cloud tiers in the original StorSimple 1010 appliance. StorSimple 5010 and 7010 are still the only cloud integrated storage appliances that are certified by both VMware and Microsoft, and have been proven to reduce the cost of traditional storage by up to 80 percent. In its ninth year, the Storage Magazine/SearchStorage.com Product of the Year Awards are a staple in the storage industry. The storage system category covers Fibre Channel (FC) and iSCSI storage-area networks (SAN), network-attached storage (NAS), multiprotocol systems, direct-attached storage (DAS), hard disk drives, solid-state storage, disk controllers, caching appliances, storage virtualization appliances and cloud storage gateway appliances.
