Spotify and Deezer, the best known options!
You have surely already heard of online music listening services, even if you haven’t used them. The global leaders in this field are Spotify with more than 13 million songs on it and Deezer which has more than 10 million songs (see our article "Deezer: Online music listening service"). Besides listening to songs on your computer from these services, there are other apps dedicated to listening to your own music collections via Wi-Fi or 3G. Spotify Mobile and their Spotify Premium subscription service will interest Android, Windows Phone, Palm and Symbian users as it will provide them with unlimited 320kbp music without advertising for $9.99 per month. The equivalent offer at Deezer is Deezer Premium+ at the same price, although it available to more mobile devices including Apple's (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad), Android (HTC, Samsung, Archos, Acer,...), BlackBerry (Curve, Bold, Storm...), Nokia (N95, N96, N97...), Windows Phone 7 (Mozart, Omnia 7...), Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Logitech, Sonos, Philips…

Music.me exclusive to Apple hardware and Beezik.com – completely free
MusicMe provides access to a catalogue of 6.6 million songs that can be listened to (MP3 ranging from 192 Kbit/s to 320 Kbit/s) with a subscription that allows for unlimited downloading for $9.90/month. One issue with this provider is that it is currently only available in France, and it is only available to Apple mobile devices - iPhone3G, 3GS, 4 (iOS 3.0 or higher), iPod Touch (iOS 3.0 or higher) and the iPad 1 and 2. To take advantage of the online listening service at Beezik.com, (4 million songs available in 192 kbps MP3 format) you can have an iPhone, iPod Touch, Blackberry, Android or Samsung device. With compatible hardware you simply need to enter your mobile phone number to receive the app! You don’t have to pay anything as the site is primarily financed by video advertising that is displayed with every download and e-commerce.

Grooveshark for Jailbroken iPhone’s and Last.fm for web radios
Grooveshark has made the Grooveshark Mobile service available for $9/month (unlimited and without advertising) with more than 7 million tracks available. All (jailbroken) iPhone’s, Blackberry, Android and Nokia devices are compatible. You can also send your own music to the site – making it available to everyone! The Last.fm website is also a very well-known radio service. Two official applications exist - Last.fm for iPhone and Last.fm for Android. To use this service without restriction on Android we recommend the excellent "LastFM Player" app.
