The company Stream TV Networks has indicated that they will very soon unveil their Ultra-D technology, allowing never before seen 3D viewing without the wearing of adapted glasses.

Ultra-D - logoAt the moment, 3D televisions available on the market require the use of a pair of glasses to benefit from 3D viewing. In 2012, we will see the arrival of the first auto-stereoscopic screens which don’t require users to wear adapted glasses. These are currently under development by LG, Philips and Toshiba.

While these new product types are currently being prepared for release, never before seen technologies like Ultra-D, developed by Stream TV Networks, have already been seen on eLocity tablets.

This very ambitious technology associates hardware components with algorithms prepared by special software to provide high quality 3D images without having to wear glasses.

Devices compatible with the Stream TV Network solution will be numerous: TV, tablets, all-in-one computers, laptop computers, smartphones and even digital photo frames. The technology is also able to convert 2D content into 3D pictures in real time.

Ultra-D will be presented at the CES 2012 show which takes place in Las Vegas in January.
