No matter which mode is being use when entering your customized settings, you can always check the analyze inside an archive option (RAR, ZIP, CAB…). It’s a little more probing but you should be careful as your hard drive activity light will be continuously running, which could become a little annoying. If you have an enormous number of compressed files, like is the case with a number of users looking to save disk space, then this option is a “must”.
The long list of detected virus, stopped or completely eradicated is classed alphabetically in the virus encyclopedia. It is highly recommended that you look through this for a threat when you don’t know what it does.
When testing with our range of personal viruses, the antivirus appeared to be particularly sensitive to the detection of known viruses, although they were not as successful as other systems like avast! or Kaspersky, as out of the 40 tests, 38 were identified and 7 couldn’t be eradicated. In summery, blocking the threats was still functional for malware and spyware but the eradication phase wasn’t up to what we had expected. The remedies are often not compatible with all “xWares”. There is always the solution of deleting the contaminated file by using a “bootable” CD that is provided or by using another third party application.
