Criminology

The scientific police have opened their doors, allowing you to take on the role of one of their investigators. If CSI impresses you, then this game on the DS should also get you excited, with the only difference here being that it is you that will lead the investigation. Between looking for clues and analysing information, it’s up to you to put together the crime and arrest the guilty person through irrefutable proof.

The CSI television franchise continues to seduce the public, while increasing interest in this vocation. As a video game though, the results aren’t the same either on the PC or DS, although the concept is a source of inspiration for developers. This has been the case for White Birds Production, who, through Criminology, offers you the possibility to take on a member of the scientific police. The subject matter isn’t terribly original, but at least it has been looked at by competent developers who will take care of the game. It’s now your turn to become an expert in the field to unveil killers thanks to a range of powerful tools.

You take on the character of Matt Simmons, a new recruit to the Scientific Brigade. While your CV seems to have impressed, there is no way you will now be resting on your laurels. You will be continually trying new things and with just a small step out of line, or the tiniest clue missed your credibility gauge will go down. If this hits bottom, then you can pack your bags and look for another job elsewhere. If this happens, then you will have to start again from your last save point, so be careful as there are not too many of these which means you may be redoing a good part of your adventure which is certainly a little frustrating.
On the other hand, good results will increase your gauge allowing you to be able to conduct your investigation as you see fit. In either case, the game requires you pay attention and not put a foot out of line, so be warned.
