An optional antispam which can be reinitialized
You don’t have the possibility of interacting with the antispam in Standard mode. But changing to Advanced mode allows you to see a whole range of new functions. If you don’t want to use this program, because you use another one, or because it is incompatible with your email client, then with a simple click you can disable it. A blocked email address can be unblocked by going to the “trusted zone” and setting the counters to zero.

White list, black list and exclusions list
After launching your email application the first time, the Eset Smart Security 4 antispam will interrogate it. To make the learning easier, you will have to create white lists and black lists. You can choose to analyze your inbox and address book to help create the white list. Don’t worry about the black list, as this will be built quickly over time with all of the spam you receive! To allow an email address or block it, you can also click on the “Trusted mail address” or “Unwanted email address” buttons. The exclusion lists contain the users email addresses.

Configuring unwanted mail filters
You simply need to click on the Advanced configuration option to block unwanted ail and access the filtering rules. The administrator, who activates this mode, can choose the object of the email to check, which will by default signal the message as [SPAM]. You can also choose to move these messages to a specific folder. In the address book you can decide to automatically import contacts if you want either from sent or received messages.

Integration with the mail email clients
With the F5 button, the options menu and Integration to email clients sub menu will provide you with antispam options and the toolbar. Clients like Outlook, Outlook Express/Windows Mail and Mozilla Thunderbird are all compatible. In the protection state you have statistics available so that you can see how many spam messages have been received since the service was started or since the counters were set to zero.
