Logs and quarantine
This small red box is far from containing useless elements. The four logs allow you to know more about the activity (detected threats, events, computer analysis and Eset personal firewall).

Use quarantine and scheduler
The Quarantine tab contains real threats and those estimated to be so. If there is nothing present, then no object has been identified as infected on your machine! The scheduler contains the reoccurring tasks launched by Eset Smart Security 4. This regularly updates your system, certifies files at the opening of the session or after the signatures database update… You can also add your own tasks (analyze the computer, execute a third party application, create a snapshot of the computer). The wizard will help you perform these actions.

SysRescue, creating an emergency restore disk
To access SysRescue you will have to go to Tools and Create an Emergency restore CD. This bootable media will allow you to scan the system before Windows starts up. This can be created on a CD/DVD or removable device (memory stick, memory card). For the SysRescue to work, you will have to install the “Windows automatic installation kit” which is available from the Microsoft Download Center, although it is 1.36 GB.

SysInspector analyses the system in detail
Still in the Tools menu, SysInspector deeply analyses the system and tasks snapshots of it. To do this you will have to create a task. Next, all of the running processes, network connections, drivers, services, system information and DLL and EXE files will be shown. This provides you with a real look at how the system is running and being monitored. The filtering is done on six levels, so things are efficient.
