Private browsing
This is one of the functions that are very visible in Firefox 3.5. You activate this mode via the Tools menu, and pressing start, or you can start browsing in this mode by using the CTRL+SHIF+P keyboard combination. You can surf discreetly, leaving no trace of the web pages you have visited, the files you have downloaded, the browsing cookies, web accounts or searches you have performed.
When you start browsing in the private browsing mode you “start at zero” although you will still have access to your customized bar. This browsing mode is discreet and the only difference is that "private browsing” will be indicated that the mode the mode is active. Finally, you should know that you can move back to the "normal" mode by using the same menus’ noted previously, or with the same keyboard combinations.

Recently closed windows and tabs
Our first regret concerns the tabs, and that is that the coloured tabs function hasn’t been implemented like what we have seen in Windows Internet Explorer 8. This option means that when you have two or more tabs open from the same active page, they take on the same colour.
On the Firefox tabs, numerous actions are possible via the right click button (Mark this tab, mark all tabs, cancel a tab closure, update the tab, update all tabs, and close all other tabs …). In the History menu, the internet user will appreciate the Recently Closed Tabs option which allows them to recover a tab that has been closed by accident. The new option is in the History menu allows you to open up the recently closed windows as well.

Deleting the recent history
For even more confidentiality, the tools menu is enriched the Delete Recent History function (CTRL+SHIFT+DEL). This is a utility which you can use often, remaining discreet but allowing you to delete all browsing traces for the last hour, two hours, four hours or even the day. This is very practical if you use a friend’s machine or one in public which you don’t want to leave traces on! You can even change the settings by deciding not to eradicate certain elements (cache, formula fields, history and downloads …).

Is the Address Bar even more "intelligent"?
We have gotten used to this "intelligent" address bar as it suggests answers which correspond to your inputs, history and bookmarks. We now also see that new options have appeared. The possibility of not calling on the history, the bookmarks or others (Tools, Options, Private browsing).

History, the conservation rules
Passing by the Tools, Options, Private Life menu, you will be able to change the rules used for keeping the history. You are free to decide to keep the history, to keep nothing or to even use more personalised rules.
