Review Graphics cards
HIS Radeon HD4650 passive graphics card

If there is one market which we like to see without any turns, it would be the fan less graphics card one, running without a fan. While it is undeniable that silence is an important point, even crucial for some, it is also undeniable that the silence comes with consequences: increased temperature. By equipping the Radeon HD 4650 with a Zalman iSilence4 system, then it’s possible that this HIS card could offer the best of both worlds. This is what we will be looking at over the coming pages.

As a general rule, it is difficult to offer a graphics card which is both silent and powerful. But its true that, once again as a general rule, passive graphics cards (fan less, offering a cooling system not based on a fan) are rather interesting for gamers, those wanting to build a multimedia PC or even those who are looking to work in an office with absolute silence.

Once again, the silence comes at a cost as you will feel a significant increase in heat. More often, the silence also requires an imposing cooling system, preventing the use of the adjacent slot for any other cards.

Equipping this Radeon HD 4650 with a Zalman heat sink, the iSilence 4, is a good idea and one that should be investigated further.

The question is therefore how to position this graphics card: an energy efficiency level, or on performance?
