Main window
In the "main" section you can see all of the adaptors that are connected, learn their MAC addresses, their location (local or remote), the "link rate" or connection speed, the current status of the LED’s (active or not) and the current firmware version. By clicking on the "Device name", it is possible to attribute a distinct name to each of the adaptors which means something to you.

Factory settings
In the event you have connectivity problems, you can always press the factory reset button with a paper clip or biro, which will reset the device to the same state you received it in. The operation is also possible via the main menu of the software by clicking on Factory Reset. This will set you back to the default settings.
Update the firmware
Like all computer and multimedia devices, upgrading the two boxes is something that you may very well do. You will have to perform this operation separately on each of the PLC adaptors. Highlight the device you want to update and then click on the "Firmware Upgrade" button in the application. Finally, browse through your hard drive for the *.BIN file that you have already downloaded from the Netgear site.
Security window
This is where you will go to allocate a password to all of the network adaptors, besides that connected to the router/modem which doesn’t need on. Once again, you simply highlight the PLC box in question and check the necessary case and then click on "Enter Password". The password can be found on the boxes sticker and in presented in the form of AL3C-SEGP-….
QOS window
The Quality of Service is configured here. This helps provide you with good traffic conditions on the XAV network, in terms of availability, speed, transmission delay, packets loss rate… Each adaptor can be configured.
Diagnostics window
As you will have understood, this is a form of monitoring. The administrator has event logs and dedicated history for each of the PLC adaptors. The logs can be saved in the TXT format, or can be directly printed.
