Netgear ReadyNas Duo 2150

Home servers are in fashion at the moment. The Netgear ReadyNas Duo 2150, provided with a 500 GB hard drive, allowing a second SATA II hard drive in its second removable rack, is configured in X-RAID (Mirroring). This server is easy to configure and it seems to meet all home users needs with its folder sharing functions, content, music and even the possibility of creating backup of your sensitive data at any moment.

Serveuraudio1This is where you will find the 4multimedia4 services. The SlimServer allows you to broadcast audio on WiFi radio stations and MP3 players like the Logitech Squeezebox, and the Pinnacle Roku for example. You activate this function and search the musical devices library all from your lounge room (see our test of Internet radios and MP3).

By checking the iTunes Streaming Server box, your RND 2150 is directly visible from iTunes (Windows or Mac). Thanks to this, your entire library is visible, loaded and played on all computers connected to the network that have the iTunes player installed. You can define the folder that hosts your MP3’s and playlists with Firefly (http://PduNAS:9000).
