The Internet browser is available in 43 languages, is completely free, while announcing themselves to be up to 40 % faster than Opera 9.6. More than a browser… an Internet suite!

Opera 10 is a web browser which positions itself to the edges of the existing browsers. This isn’t just an additional competitor to Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Goole Chrome or Safari. This Desktop version, on which we will be performing the classic Acid Test and SunSpider JavaScript Benchmark, is in reality a full Internet suite. It integrates a large number of functions which means you almost no longer need to install extensions! On offer we can point out browsing by tabs, an email and newsgroups client, RSS streams, IRC and BitTorrent clients, address book and a notes tool…

The leading new features in version 10

Opera Desktop has an elegant new interface which can be completely customised through the management page titled Speed Dial (between 4 and 25 start up sites). The traditional tabs bar which we all know is back, but enriched with the design bar display of full miniatures of each of the open tabs.

Now a new compression technology titled Opera Turbo is present to resolve all of the slow connection problems. This option can be activated if you need, with it being particularly addressed to those browsing on devices operating on 3G cards (mobile phones, PDA’s and netbooks) or on slow WiFi connections.

Another new feature is Opera Link which allows you to synchronise your engines and site addresses to different machines without leaving any traces, and the Opera Unite service (not included, requiring installation) which transforms your browser into a web (file sharing, photos, multimedia, streaming media …). Finally, another point is that the developers have decided to continue with Opera Dragonfly, the multi-platform and multi-device error debugger for the Opera browser.
