A fast 1GHz processor paired with Android 2.2 Froyo...
We will detail later the hardware in the Galaxy Tab, although we will document a few points here with the device coming with a powerful 1 GHz processor (Cortex A8) allowing it to work without any slowdowns with most applications available on the Android Market, along with a PowerVR SGX540 graphics circuit supporting the playing and recording of HD 720p video. As you will have understood, the Open Source operating system selected is Android Froyo 2.2 which is commonly used on Smartphone’s, PDA’s and an increasing number of electronic tablets.

All of this at a high price, right?
Since we will have to touch on the subject at some time, it has to be said that the Samsung Galaxy Tab GT-P1000 comes with a lot of functions that are lacking from the iPad, with two 3.2 Mega pixel camera lenses – front and back with flash and 16 or 32 GB of internal memory that can be extended via a MicroSD memory card. Before testing the device we had to wonder about the pricing of more than $600 while the top of the line iPad Wi-Fi + 3G with a 10" screen and 16 GB storage costs $599. So, is the South Korean manufactured tablet worth it? The answer is in the article!
