Timegate Studio’s is giving us the opportunity to discover their latest offering which has been 100% developed internally: Section 8. Highly anticipated by lovers of online FPS games, this game was announced as a possible successor to Quake and Unreal. That’s a lot of weight for this game to carry if it is to eventually live up to the same standards seen with these two mega hits. The weight could therefore be just a little too heavy for it...

Let's be clear, we are not here to attack what is a monument to video games. Timegate Studio's is however, not a newcomer in the pitiless universe that is FPS games. It has already provided us with a number of releases, particularly in the FPS genre, and for the most part these haven’t been bad games. But when one attacks something as large as the Himalaya’s, then you will have to come prepared with some serious references. This is the daring bet (some even say crazy) that they have attempted with this latest release.

As we announced in the preamble, Section 8 is aimed at a specific genre, the multiplayer, futuristic based FPS which has already been well exploited and which has provided us with some of the best loved games on the market. Therefore, by trying to attack some legends, there is a real risk that this may divide players, and even if you have some undeniable good points, you may still come up short: which is the case here. We will lay out the reasons for this over the coming pages...
