As for the pick up, the results were particularly surprising. You find hardware which looks a lot like a PS3 pad as all of the components are present. But at the same time you have a lot better manoeuvrability with the mouse for everything related to the rotation of the character and shooting, like what you have available on the PC. The nunchuk in the left hand allows you to easily make up for the lack of the keyboard which, while being more configurable, is also a lot larger and impossible to place on the knees.
When trialling the device when gave it a good work out, easily linking together head shots while our friends with game pad in hand had a harder time of things. Besides this, moving and turning is a lot nicer then the when you have the game pad in hand. While this combination isn’t normal, it has to be said that those that aren’t used to playing FPS games in general, or even action games, the mouse and FRAG FX doesn’t completely replace the mouse on the PC.
There are two reasons for this: the first is that the games are programmed independently of the FRAG FX’s quality. This means that the right stick which is planned for rotations and aiming can at times be accelerated when holding it down for long periods. This is used for a continual movement, so it would be better if this didn’t happen. Besides this, while the scroll wheel allows you to configure the sensitivity of the mouse, which means its reactivity, it doesn’t allow you to change the sensitivity of the movement. This means that you at times jump over multiple pixels with one movement like with the stick.
