Splitfish Frag FX V2

After many months wait, numerous reports and a lack of information on the Splitfish site, the new Frag FX engine has finally made it to specialised video game shops. After the V1 and its mixed reception due to numerous imperfections, we can only hope that this model revisited by Splitfish is a lot better, allowing PS3 players to get the same sensations experienced on the PC.

We can criticize it quality of finish though, which is really quite average. From this point of view, Splitfish has made a noticeable effort, but things could have been improved even more. Besides this, the triggers on the nunchuk clearly lack precision and feel a little fragile, especially for the L2 which after a few game hours feels wonky. Besides this, the sensitivity is also average.

Finally, the last point that we noticed is that the Frag button isn’t really essential when you think that you have ten fingers with one assigned to each of the functions. This means that you have to just get the sensitivity configured correctly.

This comes from having a good position for each of the buttons and the possibility of configuring them. This also comes from the fact that the USB cable is long enough, ranging to 3 metres from the PS3. This especially provides you with the opportunity of having the mouse in your right hand allowing you to have good movement, almost identical to what you would have on the PC. While the freedom of movement is slightly less, it is still a lot more precise then the game pad, and that’s a great help in itself.
