Despite their age and experience, Frozenbyte isn’t really interested in being innovative in the video game world. They are instead trying to seduce those that are nostalgic and fans of games that are halfway between action and thinking. This return backwards has been wholly taken on by the company, and it has to be said that it’s with good reason.
The concept comes from a big cross between The Lost Vikings, Prince of Persia and LittleBigPlanet. In summery, it is a difficult mixture to get right and refine. Numerous developers have tried this experience in vain, but Frozenbyte feels that they are up to this difficult and risky conceptual experience.

Trine is actually the name of a powerful artefact with mysterious powers. Our three heroes’ will learn about the different aspects that this object possesses. It has the power of bringing these three together into a single entity, although this entity can then adopt the three physical forms of our unfortunate hero’s.
It will be up to the gamer to control this “three in one” character, accompanying them over the course of fifteen levels with increasing difficulty. The story is told in the same way as a fairytale, with a story teller who clearly knows what they are doing controlling the exercise. It is short, but it is still sufficient.

In the end this is used to some degree as a reason behind this small trip through a rather enchanting and successful universe. The three characters that you control have the simple objective of surviving and progressing through the different levels that are littered with dangers and problems. Each of these people have their own unique qualities which you will need to use.
The knight, like all good soldiers, comes equipped with a sword and shield which stands out in close combat. You can also defend yourself against projectiles like arrows, stalactites and fireballs. It also plays an important role in moving heavy obstacles, to break wooden boards and to cut ropes.
