VirusKeeper 2010 Pro: Antivirus and antispyware

VirusKeeper 2010 is a program which protects you against viruses, spyware, worms, Trojan horses and other rootkits. The Pro version which we tested for this article has a real time analysis engine integrated into it which detects the different forms of current threats, a traditional antivirus engine (virus by signature) and high quality complementary tools (anti-rootkit, Messenger protection, real time shield, active processes in memory, network traffic analysis...). This is a French security solution which should be discovered.

VirusKeeper 2010 Pro: Antivirus and antispyware

VirusKeeper, a proven antivirus program!
viruskeeperintroThe French software editor AxBx has provided us with their leading security product so that we could test it: VirusKeeper 2010 Pro. As a reminder, this is one of the only antiviruses which detected the Sasser, Korgo and Bagle viruses in real time the day that they were released, while a large number of competing antivirus products took a lot longer to update their systems so that these were recognised, which meant that the PC was already infected! This information should not be forgotten, as it proves the reactivity of VirusKeeper.

Behavioural analysis against threats and classic antivirus systems
The VirusKeeper 2010 antivirus system is based mainly on its malicious programs detection and behaviour analysis (virus, worms, Trojan horses, spyware) module, as well as its more traditional signature analysis which needs no presenting. This is a real time protection shield with the aim being to protect the machine from threatening files that are either on the machine or which could come to you through various exchange mechanisms (Internet browser, instant messaging, diverse downloads...) which will try to infect the key elements of the system (sensitive Windows files, Windows registry, start up…).

Appropriate tools for analysing and eradicating at risk files!
As well as real time system protection and the automatic file analysis tool for at risk incoming files, VirusKeeper also has tools which can be run manually on an as required basis. Immediate behavioural analysis, analysis of traditional files, the antispyware scan and anti-rootkit analysis are all elements which are present in this kit. To stand out from the competition effectively, the editor has also integrated ProcessWatch, an analysis tool which allows you to identify all of the programs that are loaded at start up, as well as the programs which are active in the memory. NetWatch is also capable of watching over the programs which communicate on the local area network or over the internet to be sure that everything remains safe and secure.

What is the Operating System and hardware that is required?
VirusKeeper is fully compatible with machines running Windows XP, 2000, Server (2000, 2003, 2008), Vista (32 and 64 bits) and Microsoft’s latest release, Windows Seven (32 and 64 bits) which is the system on which we tested this program without any issues. The application when in standby uses, on average, less than 15 MB of memory with it therefore being just as well adapted to laptops as to desktop computers. It is therefore not necessary to have a very powerful machine to be able to use this. There are three different operational modes present for real time (normal mode, games mode and Netbook mode)!
