In this second par of our article dedicated to the new features of the future Microsoft Windows 7 operating system, we will look at the multimedia options with Windows Media Player 12, the Internet and networks (IE8, Advanced sharing, Parental control...) and to finish with, the security aspect which has once again been improved over Vista (Action Centre, System Repair, UAC to level 4...).

Internet Explorer 8 and the Parental control
The Microsoft browser is integrated more then ever before in the Windows Seven environment. The miniature tab views and open windows are made a lot more visible, although we should state that this practical aspect isn’t possible with any other browser besides IE8. The user benefits from all of the usual functions like browsing by tabs, popup blocker and the customized browsing bar, as well as a whole range of other new features integrated into Internet Explorer 8.

Private browsing and advanced plugin management…

Among the new functions, we can point out Private browsing, like that already present in Chrome and Safari. There is also SmartScreen Filter which looks at suspect web sites that could represent a threat, "Caret Browsing" which allows you to browse with the cursor and the F7 button, as well as a new add-on module like in Firefox…

Parental control inside!

You can now configure the parental control with Parental Filter without installing any third party programs. For your children or teenagers, it is now possible to define different times that the computer is available for use. Unfortunately, to be able to filter the web browser you will need to call on a third party program…

The responsible adult that has an administrator account is able to grant access or not to video games depending on their degree of violence, as well as authorise or block certain applications which are not appropriate for use without parental supervision (email, instant messaging, web browsing…).
