The local area network is easy to install!
You may remember that it was at times laborious to configure a home network under Vista? This now seems to have been corrected with Seven! The local area connections in Windows 7 are now properly detected, and you can even protect access to the network to certain member via an alphanumeric password.

No systematic resource sharing!

The searching and discovery of new networks when opening each session can be enabled or disabled. Gone is the automatic installation of shared printers as well, except if you elect to have this… Sharing music and videos, why not? But all of the My Documents folder… under Seven everything can be configured down to the smallest detail.

The cabled network: see and be seen, if you want…
The network topology is even more visible. For a wired network, the icon is represented by an RJ45 plug, while the wireless access is represented by reception bars. Changing from a wired to a wireless network is done easily, with the Ethernet network properties being just as well detailed. You will notice the presence of the TCP / IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, the Microsoft client, while the Qos packet scheduler present along with two other new features.

The first of these is the "Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver" which makes it easy to detect other PC’s, peripherals and network infrastructure devices. The second, "Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder" allows other machines to detect you on the network.
