Firewall: Advanced Configuration

Another new addition that deserves to be mentioned, Microsoft has made a new MMC (Microsoft Management Console) snap-in available called Windows with Advanced Security. As its name indicated, it is possible to configure your firewall to an advanced level (even, very advanced!) making it no longer even comparable to the Windows XP version. Under this configuration it resembles a real firewall with, finally worth its name, by including a lot of functionality. We need to wait to see if it is as effective as it hopes to be, and if it is capable of rivaling other already strong products that have been on the market for a few years now…
