Eltek, the
world leader in high efficiency power systems, today
announced its THEIA HE-t solar inverter has won the prestigious “red dot
award: product design 2012” after a 30-member expert jury evaluated the
product over the course of several days.
Manufacturers from all over the world submitted 4,515 designs to the
renowned competition. Past red dot award: product design winners include
the BMW 5 Series and the MacBook Air. The THEIA HE-t won its award in
the industry and crafts category, one of 17 product design award
categories.
“It is very rewarding to know that the THEIA HE-t inspires some of the
world’s top design experts,” said Ingvar Apeland, Executive Vice
President, Eltek Renewable. “We constantly strive to make the THEIA
inverters the best on the market technologically. We also understand
that design is increasingly important and are very pleased that this
effort has been acknowledged as world class.”
Red dot awards are offered in three categories: the “red dot award:
product design,” the “red dot award: communication design” and the “red
dot award: design concept.” Product design award winners must
demonstrate excellence in multiple areas including usability, quality
and innovation.
The red dot awards are coordinated by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen
based in Essen, Germany. The red dot award has established itself
internationally as one of the most appreciated quality seals for
outstanding product and industrial design.
THEIA HE-t solar inverters convert power from photovoltaic panels into
AC power that can be fed into the electricity grid. The THEIA HE-t range
defines a new level of efficiency, flexibility and user friendliness for
isolated PV string inverters. THEIA HE-t represents industry-best
efficiency for isolated string inverters and is suitable for all PV cell
technologies.
Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of the red dot design award,
pointed to the high quality level of the competition: “The most
distinguished products of their respective branches of industry faced up
to both the tough competition this year, but also to the critical eye of
the jury. The experts thoroughly examined, tested and evaluated each
individual entry applying the highest standards. With their
performances, the laureates did not only demonstrate an extraordinary
design quality but they also showed that design is an integral part of
innovative product solutions.”
