thumbnail images?

Is there a way to show the WMF images in a folder-view so I can see what the
picture *is* not just a generic icon? In XP the folder view would
show the thumbnails of all the pictures.

In XP when I clicked on a WMF file a picture-viewer would pop up & I could
proceed through the folder & see each picture.
Win7 just opens the image in Paint one by one.

This is annoying when I'm just trying to pick a picture for a publication
from a collection with filenames like monitor1...monitor9 & so on.
Thanks for help (Win help didn't, or I asked it wrong, or something).

There are dozens if not hundreds of image viewers which allow
you to build, display, and print thumbnails of images, whether
for basic use or for web page use. Many are free. Google.
