Travelocity® is seeking an
answer to a question that the Roaming Gnome and travelers everywhere
have long debated: “Beach or ski?”
Now through March 14, 2011, Travelocity’s Facebook community will have
the opportunity to settle the argument once and for all by voting on
whether they would rather win a trip to the lush beaches of the Hawaiian
island Maui or the snowy slopes of Vail, Colo. To vote, go to www.facebook.com/travelocity.
Current members of Travelocity’s Facebook community can vote immediately
while non-members will need to simply click the “like” button in order
to participate.
“Travelocity knows how much our customers love going to the beach and
how much they love to ski and we take pride in helping them get to
amazing destinations like Maui and Vail,” said Andrew Donkin, senior
vice president, global marketing and media, Travelocity. “This promotion
is a fun way to engage our Facebook community and you can count on the
Roaming Gnome showing up in either destination to help our winner find
all of the best local spots.”
The destination that tallies the most votes will be announced on March
14 along with the randomly selected prize winner who will enjoy either
five nights in Maui at the Fairmont
Kea Lani (plus a spa treatment for two) or five nights in Vail at
the Arrabelle
at Vail Square, a RockResort (plus four-day Vail/Beaver Creek lift
tickets for two). Round-trip airfare for two to either destination will
be provided courtesy of Continental Airlines.
At the end of the promotion, all members of Travelocity’s Facebook
community will receive a $100 promotional code good for a hotel booking
– when booked on Travelocity using any American Express® Card – in the
winning destination. Also, contest entrants will be encouraged to invite
their Facebook friends to enter too and the person who succeeds in
getting the most friends to enter, will be crowned the King or Queen of
Beach or Ski and will be awarded a $500 Travelocity gift card and their
very own Roaming Gnome.
