Gentoo 11 LiveCD offers 32 multimedia apps, and 9 video players:

Dragon Player
Gnome Player
Kaffeine
Movie Player
SMPlayer
VLC
XBMC
gxine
xine

1 or 2 good/great apps is ALWAYS better for users than 8 or 9 mediocre
apps, but you can't tell that to "choice is good" morons like you and
the other cola "advocates".

Anyway, which of the nine I should use to play a video? And why?

<now slink away because you know nothing about Linux or any of its apps,
and couldn't make an argument anyway>

It makes sense to have a number of choices in the ecosystem... but to come
by default on one system?!?!? Yeah, that is a bit daft.
