Just before the opening of Microsoft’s BUILD conference, US carrier AT&T has announced the imminent arrival of numerous Windows Phone’s: the HTC Titan and the Samsung Focus Flash and Focus S Smartphone’s.
Microsoft developers BUILD conference, which opens tomorrow in California, promises to bring with it new details about Microsoft’s tablet strategy via Windows 8 and ARM architecture. But in all this buzz, the Windows Phone platform won’t be forgotten.
In preparation for the event, US carrier AT&T has announced the release of three new Windows Phone Smartphone’s, with the carrier looking to differentiate themselves from other carriers, notably Verizon, who are heavily Android oriented.
The carrier is the most implicated in Microsoft’s mobile operating system, both as a Windows Phone retailer and as one of the first to apply the Mango update to existing handsets – with AT&T now ready to distribute other new models.
HTC Titan, Samsung Focus S and Samsung Focus Flash
We find the HTC Titan , presented in Europe in early September, with its large 4.7" screen and 1.5 GHz processor along with two Samsung handsets – the first to be seen since late 2010. These are the Samsung Focus Flash and Samsung Focus S, successor to the Samsung Focus launched in the United States last year.
There are currently no pictures available of the Samsung handsets, but AT&T has stated that the Samsung Focus Flash comes with a 3.7” Super AMOLED display, a 1.4 GHz processor and 5 mega pixel camera in addition to a lens on the front for videoconferencing.
The Samsung Focus S, is a higher range model, with a 4.3" Super AMOLED Plus screen, a 1.4 GHz processor and 8 mega pixel camera – all in a shell that is only 8.6 mm thick. AT&T has also announced the Mango update will be made available to all models they distribute.
