Vanguard
Software Solutions (VSS), a leader in H.264/MPEG-4 AVC CODEC
technology since 2004, announces immediate availability on an AVC-I
encoder and decoder core for FPGA devices. An SVC codec core will be
available in Q4. Customers can develop complete hardware solutions for
video encoders and video codecs using highly parameterized VSS cores to
provide scalability. VSS cores can be customized and optimized for the
features needed to achieve the desired performance, core size, memory
bandwidth and power consumption.
VSS FPGA Cores provide memory organization flexibility so that the
number of memory units and memory channels can vary to meet the solution
requirements, allowing implementations to efficiently share access to
external memory units among multiple data masters, and supporting
on-chip microprocessor control, customizable memory controller
priorities, and scalable performance based on dynamic structure changes.
In addition, C models for all the encoder and decoder cores are also
available at the same time for rapid design and integration.
VSS is also developing a new HEVC FPGA core that will be available next
year. The HEVC core will provide customers with access to real-time,
HEVC functionality with FPGA flexibility.
“The VSS FPGA Cores bring together the ingredients to create customized
FPGA digital video solutions for digital video communications and
broadcasting,” said Irena Terterov, CEO and Founder of VSS. “With our
new HEVC FPGA core components in development, designs with our FPGA core
technology are ready for today’s implementations and tomorrows
challenges.”
