Vivint Wins 2012 American Business Award, Named Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year

Vivint™, the largest home automation services company in North America, today announced that it won a gold Stevie Award in the Corporate Responsibility of the Year category in the 10^th annual American Business Awards. The American Business Awards are the nation’s premier business awards program.

Vivint has several charitable campaigns anchored by the highly successful Vivint Gives Back program. Vivint Gives Back was created in 2008 as a way to alleviate hardship and restore hope for families in need. The program focuses on involving Vivint employees, who contribute time, money and talents to various service projects throughout the communities Vivint serves. In 2011, Vivint Gives Back donated more than $1.25 million to charities throughout the United States and Canada, which was supplemented by over 7,500 hours of donated service time by Vivint employees.

Other charitable efforts for Vivint include collaborating with Habitat for Humanity International, partnering with Feed My Starving Children to pack more than 106,000 meals to feed hungry children in 70 countries throughout the world, volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House of Salt Lake City, and others.

Vivint has been recognized several times this year for its philanthropic efforts. The company was selected as the 2012 Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year by the Utah Commission on Volunteers, and in March it received the 2012 Mission 500 Corporate Social Responsibility Award, which is designed to honor companies in the security industry that make important contributions to those in need.
