Today, The Washington Post and The Verge - a new technology news site
launching this fall from the creators of SB Nation - announce a
partnership to share original technology reporting, videos and podcasts.
The partnership launches with the debut of a weekly column, exclusive to
The Washington Post, by Joshua Topolsky (@joshuatopolsky) technology
writer, former Engadget editor-in-chief and founding editor-in-chief of
The Verge. The column will appear online Wednesdays and in the paper
each Thursday - the day of the week consumers have grown accustomed to
reading about new technology releases. It will focus on technology
culture, trends and reviews. In the coming months, reporters from The
Verge will contribute several articles a day to washingtonpost.com.

The Verge is the latest partner to join The Washington Post's technology
and business section - a roster that includes Bloomberg Business News
and TechCrunch. These partnerships contribute the broadest and deepest
coverage to The Post's concentration on the intersection between
technology, policy and business. Topolsky's column will complement The
Post's established technology reporting and columns such as Post Tech (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-tech)
and Faster Forward (http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/faster-forward).
Scheduled to launch in the Fall of 2011, and founded by a group of the
industry's leading writers and editors, The Verge (http://www.theverge.com/)
will be an authoritative and comprehensive source of news, reviews,
journalistic features, and product information covering the world of
consumer technology. The Verge will produce and syndicate extensive
original video and other multi-media technology programming, occupy a
high ground of thought leadership for the industry, and be a destination
for the vast and growing community of technology users and enthusiasts
to share insights and information.
"The Verge offers a wealth of ideas, fresh perspective and experience in
covering technology issues," said Greg Schneider, national economy and
business editor, The Washington Post. "This collaboration adds their
expertise to The Washington Post's robust coverage of technology policy
and company trends."
"As we seek to build the premier brand in technology media, we can think
of no better or more appropriate partner than The Washington Post, one
of journalism's greatest brands and institutions," said Joshua Topolsky,
The Verge's founding editor-in-chief. "I am looking forward to sharing
my passion for technology with The Washington Post's broad readership at
a time when the cultural influence and accessibility of personal
technology has never been greater."
Topolsky's column launches Wednesday, August 10. A leading voice in
technology reporting, Topolsky has assembled an all-star team of
personal technology writers at The Verge. He is the resident tech expert
on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and has appeared on CNN, Fox News,
Bloomberg TV, and G4's Attack of the Show.
