Watch a movie in full screen mode on your TV with an ATi video card

Be warned! The “overscan” mode changes the refreshment rate of your television, which by default will be set to 50Hz. Some old televisions will not accept their refresh rate being increased, and if this is the case there is nothing I can do for you.

On the two following pictures, we can see the difference between the picture obtained on the TV both before and after the activation of sublayering.

You will notice the picture being used takes up the whole possible area of the television screen without any deformations. To get this result, you will need to install the Rage3D Tweak 3.9b program (freeware) which is available from this site.

After installing this, a white R icon on a red background will appear in your toolbar. Double click on this and it will start the program. Next go to the “Rage3D Tweak” tab and open the “DVD and MMC” branch. You will then need to click on the “TV overscan support” option and press OK.

Go to the viewing properties by clicking Start, Control Panel and Display. You will need to go to the “Settings” tab and click “Advanced”. a new window will appear and in this window you will need to go to the “Display” tab. Activate the TV output and click on the red button situated next to the picture of a television, confirming that you want to save the rules:

Next click on the “TV” name and the “TV properties” will display.
In this window, go to the “Settings” tab and check the “Sublayering” option.

And everything should be done!!!
