Find a similar web site with the Google search engine

March 13th, 2008 - 05:10 am ET by D. T.

When searching the Internet, on an expo for example, you may end up finding a rare gem. The web site is relevant as it provides you with all information you are looking for. But there may be some information that is missing, so rather then looking through other sites yourself, why not let Google do the work.

After having launched your browser (Firefox, Netscape, Camino, Internet Explorer, etc) and opened the Google search page, enter the “related:” command followed by the name of the site that you want to find an equivalent of.

  • Here is an example with Google (“related:google.fr”):

Google sites similaires 1 Google sites similaires 2

The search will show you equivalent sites reference in the search engine.

  • Another example with Boursorama (“related:Boursorama.com”)

Google sites similaires 3 Google sites similaires 4

The request displays other sites that have something to do with the stock market.
