Will Firefox 3.x run in Win2000?

Most of the time I run Windows 98se, but I installed Windows 2000 on
another computer because I can no longer access Youtube.com using
Firefox 2.x (last version that will run on Win98). If I try, I get a
very annoying popup telling me that I must upgrade my browser, but
Win98 wont run anything newer.

Dont tell me to install XP or newer. It's not going to happen. I hate
XP, and anything newer is just more useless bloatware that would never
run on my older computer. If it involves buying a new computer, it's
going to be a Macintosh, because there's no way in hell that I'm going
to upgrade to any further version of MS bloatware, and that includes
that horrid XP.

Windows 98 was the best OS that MS ever made, Win2000 is acceptable.
Anything after 2000 is GARBAGE. If I cant do it with Win2K, I wont be
doing it on any PC. At least not till (or if) someone makes an
alternative (non-MS) operating system which will still run common
Windows programs (that leaves out that miserable geeky Linux). In my
opinion, the PC is dead. Maybe computers in general are dead as far
as userability. Seems the newer they get, the less the user has any
control, and they have become little more that expensive toys for kids
to play games.

But then again, the web has gone down the shitter too. Every damn
webpage seems to have sold out to that privacy invading Facebook.
(which I prefer to call Facefuck). Facefuck, probably the most
useless thing ever created on the internet.

Come to think of it, maybe the end result is to just disconnect from
the internet and just use my computer for word processing and storing
the photos from my digital camera. Seems it has little use for much
else anymore.

But anyhow, if I can run Firefox 3.x on Win2000, please let me know.
I know there are some files to trick FF into running on Win98, but I
hear it difficult to use and can cause Win98 to malfunction. I dont
need that hassle.

When you attach a simple query then bloat it with a few screens of
(mostly irrelevant) rant you're likely to get one of three results (in
order of probability):

- readers will hit return and move on

- readers will respond with their own long rants (while ignoring your
question)

- someone *might* respond to your question

(FWIW, my Win2K installation is down at the moment but I'm pretty sure
that the Firefox version I had installed on it was V3. In any event, I
can see where it might not work on Win9x but I don't see why it wouldn't
run on any XT-engined version of Windows)
