It is possible to customise Windows 7 to your tastes!

Customising Windows 7 to your tastes is just as possible as it was under XP or Vista. As a bonus, a lot of the programs that we have looked at here are also compatible with a range of operating systems, and fortunately it is not just experts that are able to apply the changes that suit them. The options range from the wallpaper, to themes, the taskbar, thumbnails, welcome screen and screen savers. Among the more in fashion choices are 3D desktops, virtual screens, Windows Phone 7 and Windows 8 themes.

Don’t forget the systems native tools…

Windows 7 brings with it a lot of internal tools that can be used to customise your themes. These allow you to change background colours, colour mixes, Windows system sounds, screen savers, the appearance of windows, mouse cursors, desktop icon and your accounts avatar. You can create, backups of your themes, with it being possible to even share these (.themepack extension), change the wallpaper picture every x minutes, configure user transparency and change the active and inactive windows fonts.

RT Se7en Lite, configure and customise Windows 7 before installation

The RT7Lite program allows you to go even further with your changes, allowing you to customise Windows 7 before it has been installed ! You can, before installation, and from your original DVD, add screen backgrounds, icon types, themes and all kinds of other custom options (service pack, drivers, applications, components…). The end result is a “bootable” Widows 7 DVD with all of your settings predefined, making it faster to install your computer with all of your settings already in place.
