Windows 8 Preview

Been playing with it for a bit.

Seems MS is doing to the current Windows desktop what Apple did to Mac OS
Classic... though not on a technical level but on a visual / migration
level.

But the new UI is a mess for mouse usage. What a disaster. To quit an app
you grab the top and drag it down... and the multitasking UI just seems
*bad*. Not impressed at all - at least for a desktop system.

But it is just a preview... maybe MS will make something decent by the time
it ships.

Oh, and for those who told me this was not at all like the desktop Linux
situation - they were correct. With Windows 8 there is a definite context
change that shows when you are on the old style "desktop" and when you are
in the new UI style. Linux does not have that... in that way desktop Linux
is far behind Windows.

Still, that does not mean the new MS UI makes sense for a desktop.

Oh, and the Solitaire program has no real settings. I hope they fix that
before it becomes the official version. :)
