"Windows Picture and Fax Viewer", Changing the Background Color

August 21st, 2011 - 07:36 pm ET by jaugustine | Report spam
Hi,

I recently started using "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer". Note: For
years, I have used other viewers.

I really like this viewer's operation, but I can not find a way to change
the background color, the color outside the image I am viewing, from white
to black. Many images I view are small images and it is very annoying with
the bright white around those images.

I searched the program's "Help" for this information, but found nothing.

Thank You in Advance, John

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is a very basic image viewer. You
probably can't change the background color.

Have you ever looked at IrfanView? It's free and when I just looked at
some small images, the background is black.

I won't be able to help if you have questions but as far as free image
programs go, it's worth a look:

I use Windows Picture and Fax Viewer to preview images, I use IrfanView
to view saved slide shows, I use XnView to view indexes of images and I
use PhotoShop to edit images.
