Cardo Systems is a company founded in 2001 in the United States specialised in wireless and Bluetooth audio systems. To try and make their place in this competitive sector, the company has been concentrating on the deployment of their innovative technological solutions that have been trademarked.
Officially released to the French market at the end of 2007, these products are already being pushed by numerous distributors like MCA, who are trying to get the Scala name known.
The company arrived on the French market quite late, with this sector already being well served by other players, but they try to differentiate themselves by their quality finish, bringing with them trademarked technologies so that their sound is improved.
Rather then launching in the Bluetooth products section with other accessories, sound systems, etc, Cardo Systems wanted to keep their image of high quality products. The company therefore limits itself to producing wireless headsets, ear pieces and Bluetooth emitters allowing you to connect to wireless sound systems.
Among the inventions that Cardo Systems have, we can point out the VersaClip, a clip for earpieces which attach them to glasses, as well as the WindGuard filtering system which eliminates wind noises, as well as the scala-rider range that is designed for motorbike riders.
Targetting markets with specific needs
This last aspect is one of the maker’s biggest positive points: offering wireless audio solutions that are adapted to particular needs and environments, like motorbike riders who are looking for communication systems between riders (with a range of up to 500 meters), between the driver and passenger, or a combination of the two with the scala-rider Q2 class 1 earpiece.
The company is associated with a number of brands like GPA and Tecnoglobe to promote and integrate their technologies directly into motorbike helmets.
This system can also work with work helmets, an environment that is quite noisy, so that they can be equipped with earpieces and sound reduction hardware allowing the voice to be better recognised so that communication is made easier.
This strategy allows Cardo Systems to market directly at these targeted markets, rather then looking to be present in the normal distribution chains. This allows them to have an image of creating something that is of high quality.
The products presented here illustrate Cardo Systems know how when working with wireless audio systems. We will be looking at the Cardo S-2 hands free kit and headphones, allowing you to listen to music stored on your mobile phone or portable music player, as well as the Cardo S-800 earpiece, a top of the range earpiece that offers Bluetooth capabilities.
