Resolve problems linked to the WLLoginProxy.exe process

Some users will have noticed that when accessing their Windows Live Mail through Windows Live Messenger that this problem occurs. At this time Internet Explorer will launch a process called WLLoginProxy.exe which is the Windows Live connection assistant. Relatively network intensive, it can lead to a considerable slowdown in your Internet connection. This can be a real problem if you don’t use a proxy server, so here is how you can disable it.

Firstly launch Internet Explorer, either by using the advanced search on the start menu or by clicking on the desktop icon.

Once in the program, click on the “Tools” button to the top right and from the drop down menu choose “Internet Options”.

In the new window, click on the “Programs” tab and then in the sub-section called “Manage additional models” click on the button. In the new list that appears, you simply have to find the Windows Live connection help and uncheck the box.
